P*A*R*T*Y in Greenbank

If it isn't raining this is one of the best places on earth for the kiddos, they all can run around and we as parents don't have to worry. There is plenty of space to have fun and run around. Only one worry is the scooter. Never sure how fast the person riding will be coming around the corners!

This is one of the best photos from the evening. Emma FINALLY likes most of us, it only took 20 months. I wish I had a video of her, Riley and Kelly when they played together it was really sweet.

The sun is out and so are the girls...

Heard the water running for awhile... now I know why, the Polly Pockets need to swim after all the sun is out and it must be 50 degrees on the deck.

She is 5 1/2 today!!! April 12th!

Hard to believe that she is already 5 1/2! I am so glad that she is part of our regular life, I will miss her next year when she is attending Kindergarten. I am hopeful she will always remember the Tuesdays spent with us! We love you Riley girl! :)

Ouch...

Riley had been really sick for a while... on wonder she said things tasted like BLACK.... I guess if I had two really big chunks out of my tongue I would taste the same way!

She is still really cute no matter what her tongue looks like!

Gramma Rocks!

Mom took all of her granddaughters for two days and a night to Seattle, what a great time they had. They went to the movies at 11:30pm, climbed the REI rock wall, ate breakfast at Pike Place Market, had snow fall on them inside, admired the Gingerbread houses, and got their photo taken with Santa, that is just to name a few of the things that they told me about. Mom said it was such a busy day that both of them fell asleep in the car on the way home!

Riley is soooo funny!

Riley really wanted to have some "soda" at the party on Saturday night but she couldn't find any cans in the fridge, so Gma found a bottle of Dad's Root beer, and Riley gets a nervous looks and then says, " I shouldn't drink daddy's beer, I'm not allowed!" We showed her the "ROOT" part and she seemed to understand... so funny. She sure did like having that bottle!

Riley is 5 today!

Today was a two for one deal... Sophie and Riley... good thing it was Riley's bday!

Cousins and birthdays....

Emily's bday is the 6th, Riley's is the 12, and Emma's is the 17, October is a really big month for bats, so we try to celebrate them all at once if we can. It is harder and harder to get everyone together so it is usually hit and miss, this year was MISS! We had homemade pizza by mom at Katy's house but Katy wasn't even home, funny huh!

So Em got this candy that is SUPER SOUR, so sour that she won't eat it. She thought it would be REALLY funny to trick Riley into having some.... That face says it all

Riley is funny...

We took Riley to the live performance of "Freedom Train." Her mom told her it was a play.
This is one of the conversations upon Katy picking up Riley.

Katy: "Riley, did you like the play?"
Riley (making a sour face): "Mommy it was not PLAY, we had to sit in chairs, it was a movie with REAL PEOPLE!"
Katy, Cindy, Em, Kelly, and Lexy all laughed!

NO David.... one of the best...

On Tuesday I took my Tuesday girl to the library! She wasn't sure what to do at first, then I told her she could get 4 books off the shelf and I would read them to her. We did this 4 times, that is 16 books... I was done with the germ infested part of the library so I found a couple of "Huffer Classics" for her to check out and bring to my house. No, David was her favorite. I had to laugh later after her nap Jimmy came over and she couldn't wait to show him she could "read the book!"
I hope I can help instill in her the love of reading. Kelly loves to read.... Emily will read if it is a GREAT book, but she really prefers movies, I guess she is part Bennett after all!

Outdoor fun....

So our winter has been so mild except for a few really cold days (in the teens) in December. Last week was dry and warm in the 50's the girls spent some time out on the trampoline.

This photo of Kelly shows that it takes a little more patience and work when there is a 4 year old on the tramp with the big kids, Riley has no concept that she could hurt them or they could land on her during their turn, so when it is not her turn some one holds her, she doesn't like it but the alternative is getting off entirely.... so better to be held!

Wow..... Emily can do some amazing tricks on the trampoline, she is so fun to watch until she knows you are watching then she really hams it up! She can flip in all directions it's amazing what young bodies can do!This is one of the reasons I LOVE my new camera, I never could capture a photo like this with my point and shoot. This is Molly, she is a friend of both my girls, and she tolerates Riley, too!

Kirk and I wondered at the time when we purchased this if it really was the right thing to do with the limited amount of extra money we had he was back in school, I was the only one working and things were really tight! But looking back this was such a great purchase. We might have to replace her this spring: she as numerous springs missing, the protective blue mat is broken, and the trampoline has micro wholes in it, it is just a matter of time before she breaks! But it will be a hard choice... a big screen TV (our tv is 10 years old) or a new trampoline.... there is not enough money in the budget for both! Hmmm what would your vote be?

Katy's house 2009

One thing I love about my sister Katy, is that she loves to go all out over Christmas, she has so much stuff and she knows how to decorate so it doesn't look lame, here is a small sample of just part of her house.

Even her tree, that is white looks fabulous! I can't image having a tree--- but she always pulls it off so it looks perfect!

Today {10.12.2009} Riley is 4!!!

Riley is four today, so I thought I would upload some of my favorite photos of her. I find pleasure in photographing her, some times she is such a pill and other times she is so sweet!

2 for 1 Tuesday...

So when Katy dropped off Riley for the day she said, "today is 2 for 1 Tuesday!" I had no idea what she was talking about then I saw Sophie, Katy's pug. Riley LOVES Sophie, in fact she often tells me she is "Sophie's' mommy!" Aren't they sweet!

On Easter Sunday Riley officially turned 3 1/2 years old. She is such a funny little girl, I enjoy taking photos of her! I think that she ate more chocolate than anyone else that Sunday!
