This naughty little girl....

Kelly got the Harry Potter Book Set for Christmas! She loves to read, in fact it has been quite a problem lately. Earlier this week I got up started some laundry, took Emily to school came home, folded some laundry, all the while it was almost 9:00 and Kelly has to be at HC by 9:30 so I came upstairs to check on her and this is what I found.....

She admitted that "there really aren't any good places to stop reading in Harry Potter so I have no idea what time I finally turned off the light but I think it was after 1 am!"

Kirk and I were trying to figure out if we could put her electricity on a timer so that after 10 pm she wouldn't be able to read, but of course she has a flashlight.... so not sure what to do except get her out of bed really early in the morning so she is tired at night. :)

It's been so warm!!!!

I am not complaining, but the weather has been so mild that we still have a few snapdragons growing and living out the front door, it is actually heart warming for me to see them each time I come home. The upper flower was one I planted in the spring because I liked how it looked and here it is January 2013 and it still is blooming... must be hearty plant. I am sure the cold weather is just around the corner, I personally like it cold if the sky is blue, otherwise I will take the gray sky with no frost or snow on the ground! :) Happy day to you!

Here is our newest addition....

We got a new stove...the old one's oven died in the summer. It was so nice to flip a switch and have it work.
We upgraded and got a convection oven, which will come in handy, first trial tonight was cooking two pizzas at the SAME time.... Emily was so proud, she cooked 3 pizzas in less than 23 minutes! So excited to bake this winter!

Crappy paint....

When we were getting ready to get the new range we had to pull out the fridge and old range.... then it happened...... we just couldn't stop pulling off the paint, look closely you can see how it comes off in huge chunks! Larry Huffer would have had a heart attack, this paint was crap! Kirk doesn't even like to talk about it... it makes him crazy that we purchased a fixer upper... never again! :)

This girl is only a high school sophomore!

This is Emily's 2nd letter from a COLLEGE wondering if she might be interested in checking out their college and swimming for them. (No mom they didn't offer her any money, that can not happen until July 1st of your junior year, in about 7 months) I think it is great it is a great reminder that she needs to keep her grades up and her head screwed on tight! She loves getting these letters I think it is has to be encouraging! Kelly said on the car ride home, "if she got her first letter as a sophomore I am hoping to get my first letter as a freshman!" Gotta love the little sister! :)
