Posers.....

One of the best benefits to being on the swim team other than being in almost perfect physical condition of an athlete, is making friends that you would have never met before! Emily has made friends with some nice girls who are many years older than her. One of them is Tori (girl on Em's left)

Tori has been so kind to both Kelly and Emily. She is a senior this year, so Em is disappointed that she will never get to swim with her on the High School team but they have had many good times on NWAC. Tori is even thoughtful enough to give Em all her old (but hardly worn) clothes, which has been great! Every big meet Tori asks me to take a photo of her and Emily and others always join in. I must have about 10 different ones (all Em & Tori plus others) from over the last two years. It took 8 shots to get a good one, silly Rosie didn't want her cap on, and then she had to make faces in the other shots... ugh! I always get even with her and take a stupid photo of her and send it to her on face book.

Kelly & Olivia

A couple of weeks ago Kelly made my heart almost break, she came up to me and told me you want to know something? (Duh, is what I wanted to say but I just nodded I knew that it was going to be serious) She said to me " I am so glad that I am on the swim team because Olivia is the FIRST and ONLY friend I have had that does not come with an older sister!"

Not sure what she meant, I asked her to clarify, she continued, "I have always loved Ella, but I am not sure if I am her best friend, sometime I just feel like she is my friend because our sisters are friends and we are just part of the package!" She went on..... I won't go into details but it made me really sad.
I have made a point since then to reach out to Olivia, for Kelly. Olivia came over last week and the girls had a blast. She taught Kelly how to do a back hand spring and a back flip on the trampoline, they played for hours with out any big sisters to tell them what they should do, just the two of them! The only down side to this friendship is Olivia's dad is in the Navy so they will be moving some day.... but until then Kelly has a friend!

So while we are at the State Champs Swim Meet I take way too many photos, so of them make me laugh, others make me sad to see how quickly life has been going by! One thing I have really noticed lately are genetics... Kelly and Emily have great genes on both sides but sometimes I really see the Huffer side come out. This is one of these photos. This is Emily and "Rosie" AKA Laura (Super fast Swimmer) Rosen.

So I can't find the photos of the actual meet but here is a photo of Kelly's relay. They earned 4th place out of 28 teams and missed the NWAC team record by less than 1/2 second.

Family Photo...

Emily almost died when I purchased all of us MATCHING shirts from Old Navy this year and proceeded to tell her with a straight face that I took off the 4th of July and we were all going to wear these and take some local photos together. I thought the look on her teen face was worth the lie! I almost peed my pants!

Lexy took about 10 photos and this is the best one.... kinda sad. I love that Rex looks like he is photoshopped into the photo. Kirk actually looks the same in each photo... you just gotta love him for that!

This is what the front of the house looks like... not really much to look at but it's so peaceful here you can't see the road because there are bushes that are so close by. The living room as windows on two sides but not on the side where we have neighbors!

This is back yard... it is so QUIET compared to living on a corner lot, with no shelter. We have a long rectangle lot that is 1/3 of an acre and has full access to an alley... we just love it here.

Of course I have to take a group photo, yes SEVEN girls helped and then stayed the night!

Many hands make light work.... we have plenty of help moving our trampoline from our old house to the new one... and YES it is all up hill!

Take a really good look and you will see a little one (Bailey) being carried, she was Princess Bailey that night what a funny memory she will have of being carried for 3 blocks! We have a couple of photos to prove it too! (not sure why it is blurry!)
