Trick or treat.....

This is Kirk telling Emily that she is NOT a Princess Pumpkin and she doesn't need to wear eyeliner and mascara. So she had to wash her face before leaving to go trick or treating.
It's hard to be 13!

The group of kids that Kirk, Kelly and Emily went trick or treating with! This is the second year that Kirk has been "in charge" of Halloween, he did a great job!

Pumpkins...

The girls and Kirk worked really hard on the these pumpkins, Emily spent over an hour making sketches for her pumpkin, Kelly had what she wanted in her mind, and went for it. Kirk on the other hand copied it from a book.
All in all I think that they turned out great!
Cat by Em, Skull by Kelly, and Three ghost by Kirk, I got caught up in a book and didn't realize how late it was, Kelly did my pumpkin the next day.

Solar Science project

Kirk has been a saint with Emily taking a core science class at the school this year. She had a major project due right after the weekend that she swam (and got swimmer of the meet!) and really didn't have much time to complete it. So Tuesday evening was crunch time. She did shed a few tears of frustration but she did complete a really good project!

Here it is with just a few planets on it, a work in progress......

(The socks and clothing are just part of her very messy room just ignore them!)

This was the end project, she was happy with the results. I know that her taking this class has been a challenge to adjust to other teachers standards, it is a good thing that I have been such a hard nose over the years it has made things a little better for her than other home schooled kids!

Emma Jean came over!

Jimmy and Susan had business in town today and stopped by! I was so happy to see little Emma Jean! Of course I didn't mind seeing Jimmy and Susan, too.
Doesn't she look so small compared to Jimmy, he is going to be a good daddy to her!
He already is a great father to David!

She is so cute this picture dose not do her justice, plus I should have fixed her outfit so it was centered a little better! Her hair has already gotten lighter, I think she might be a blonde.

OUCH!!!!!!!!

Kelly got her hand smashed at AWANA tonight and it really hurts, I still don't know how she did NOT cry, she just said OUCH really loud and went about her business. I wonder if she didn't cry because it was partly done by a leader and she didn't want the leader to feel bad! Now if Emily would have done that by accident there might have been WW III. I did give her some tylenol, which I never let her take, so that helped with the throbbing part!

Kelly is really tough sometimes!

What did you do on Monday?

So the girls took this and this and made it look like.....

This was really fun, I am glad we took the time to make these little buggers! They were for swim. Once a month they celebrate all the birthdays for the month and all the swimmers that celebrate that month are required to bring some cupcakes!

The girls said that these were gone in less than 5 minutes. No wonder they are so cute!

Introducing.....

Emma Jean Bennett....

She arrived today, 10.17.2009 at 8.37am (pst) in Anacortes, Washington. She weighed in at six pounds 12.5 ounces and 18.5 inches long. She has dark brown eyes and a head of light brown hair with hightlights of red! She loves to hear Jimmy's voice and seems to be looking for him when he speaks! These pictures do not do her justice, she is a beautiful gift from the LORD.
Mommy Susan and Baby are doing well.

We have a teenager in the house.....

So it won't be official until 7:40 tonight but Kirk thought it would be mean to make her wait that long to get her gifts. She has been BAGGING for about 6 months for an Apple Touch. Kirk and I have been praying, thinking and talking about for about 5 months and really didn't know what would be right for her. The touch is so cool but if we just gave it to her she has no ownership it, it is just a gift. So instead we helped her get started, we gave her $100. Now she can choose to save up more money or spend it on clothing, shoes, candy, jewelry or junk. The choice is hers, not ours. We did also get her some fun stuff earrings, colored lip gloss (which means that she is old enough in my book to wear it.), and a NET10 Cell phone. She was NOT expecting the phone, she was very surprised to say the least. So far she has text her dad and I which was to be expected. But she will need to limit herself on how much she text since she only gets 300 units until December!
I have to say she has been a blessing, one of the best things to ever happen to Kirk and me. We pray that the teenage years will also be fun, exciting and wonderful for her!
