Dad is scary.....

I will never under stand my father, I love him but I will never understand him. Here is a prime example: he will spend money going to Mexico, vitamins, magazines but he wouldn't get a haircut because he was going to Mexico in a couple of weeks and could get a GREAT HAIR CUT FOR 100 Pesos! (about $10)

After he posed for us I told him that when he died I would be using these photos of him for his funeral, he did not think that was funny, but I did. I love idle threats! He does look crazy!

Desserts....

Coconut cream pie is my favorite.

I learned how to make it 7th grade home economics class, and I think that I have only made it 4 or so times since then. Krissy and I are the only two who really like it. But since I had a crust left from the apple pie I made it. It was creamy and smooth! Yummy!

I got smart this year, I only put a top crust on the apple pie. Kelly and I cut out little stars and layered them for the top crust only. Jimmy and Brian have been known to just eat the apple filling so this way I did less work and they still got the pie filling they like. Of course the apples are off out tree! Em and Kelly helped me this year with the cherry trough, it is not a pie since it is so large. It turned out really pretty this year, we added some little touches.

No wonder Kirk usually has to lay down after eating here!

This was his first plate full, he was looking for more but didn't have any more room. I think he had thirds on some things, like onions and oyster stuffing.

More fake Thanksgiving....

Well, it was a great day at the folks house, the food was out of this world mom is a great chef and hostess. Everyone had a great time even Emma Jean! Here are a few more shots of the family.....

Kirk and I have sat at the same spot for 18 Thanksgiving dinners, it is funny how the table can grow to make sure we all fit, since we keep adding more people! This is the first year we didn't have any guests, just the Bennett clan.

Fake Thanksgiving....

Mom and Dad for the last few years have headed to Tucson the weekend before Thanksgiving to hang out with her side of the family, many of them (not my parents) participate in a bike race, there are four generations of MacKinney's riding bikes. Mom said it is really fun to hang out with her siblings and nieces and nephews. Mom and Dad have made it into a vacation and this year they are driving a car from here to Mexico so that when they are down there this year they will have their own transportation.

Emma Jean is so tiny and quiet..... her little hands are so soft she is a beautiful baby. Look at all her hair, that is more hair than both of my girls had in 1 year combined.
The clan, we took a few photos, it was really funny, we did this 13 years ago when Emily was Emma Jean's age and dad got stuck on the couch and had to roll off, take notice he is not sitting on there this time. I love that Sophie (the pug) is in the photo, she thinks she is human, dumb dog. (shh don't let Riley hear me call her daughter Sophie dumb, she will get really mad at me!)

ON Facebook...

So I caved in a joined facebook and boy what fun I have had. I went to a VERY small school and only about 40 people were in my graduating class so you pretty much "knew" everyone. My guess would also be that about half of us in my class had been together since second grade, yep we all got to know each other well over those long days of school.

Meanwhile I tried to find a picture of Kirk and me to post, but had no such luck! So I asked Kelly to take one of the two of us so we could put it on our profile... and this is how much he helped....... He was a bad husband! I also had to take a few of myself not too great, but I guess this is what I look like day in and day out!

Man he has gotten bald, I really don't notice that with day to day life but this photo really shows he has a shiny head! I guess you could say the same about me, man she has gotten fat! LOL!
