SNOW SNOW and more SNOW...

Two posts in one day almost unheard of! Woke up to snow and more snow. It took Kirk over 50 minutes to make it into work today! Ridiculous to say the least. I think we have over 5 inches, which is A LOT for us! The girls are plotting on sledding on the library hill with very local city dweller friends, they really don't want me to go with but too bad, I am going! Last time there were about 50 kids out on the hill with me as the only adult! Outside on the deck, looking down the drive way, Kirk's tracks are completely filled and gone!

This is almost unbelievable.... the stupid garbage truck actually went out and was picking up the cans today well when he got to ours he got stuck for OVER an hour! He sat infront of our house, just waiting. For what I could not understand until I heard it coming. The city has ONE truck that spits out sand, so until it got here, this was out front, notice it does have chains!!!!

Winter on Whidbey

Wow we have been hit hard by la Nina, today at our house we got 3 inches of snow! That is a lot considering we live at sea level and less than half of a mile from Puget Sound. Poor Emily got stuck at school for 4 hours. She had to walk up and down a hill three different times before our dear friend Clark picked her and her BFF up. Thankfully she was NOT wearing her usual flip flops!

Rex loves the snow but when he spends too long out side his hips suffer!

Snow again!

The girls love the snow... that means less school work in the day time while they are enjoying the elements, but they do not like the evening when they have to make up for the lost time. Oh you would think I was the worst mother ever! I let them know that students that are in the public school will have to make up the time at the end of June! Oh they didn't like that either. Life can be so unfair when you are 9 and 12.

This snowman's name is Mr. Happy. He was made quickly because this was northwest snow and was all gone by 5 pm.

Hey I am stuck!

Brian had been driving all over town and never had any problems, then he stopped by to drop off some stuff and this is what happened! HAHAHAHA I have to laugh, he even got upset, that is not a normal attitude for Brian. He finally had a friend come over and helped him out!

MORE fun in the SNOW!

It is hard to believe that we have had snow on the ground since Sunday, it has not melted! That is the longest I reember having snow here.

The girls have done very little school work, but they did make Christmas cards for their penpals, and they did fold and put away their own laundry!

I hope they stay warm while I am at work. Aunt Krissy is never far away!

It's snowing!

Kirk didn't go to work today, we had 4 plus inches of snow, all the local schools in the 50 mile radius were closed, so he got to play in the snow with the girls! What a great time they had. It looks as if tomorrow is more of the same!
